Fragile
This painting was a result of seeing an article about a teen mother trying to smother her baby. It totally stunned me and I wasn’t quite able to comprehend what motivated her. So I painted. Just the other day I was watching a video on TED by Alexander Tsiaras: Conception to birth — visualized, what a miracle life is and how precious. This world is full of paradox and who can ever understand…
“Fragile”
acrylic on styrofoam, unframed
ready to hang, painted around the edges
H15 x W15 x depth 1.5 inch (38 x 38 x 4cm)
And a song by Sting came to my mind about something completely different but also kind of the same.
“Fragile” (Sting)
If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the colour of the evening sun
Tomorrow’s rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant
To clinch a lifetime’s argument
That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are, how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
How fragile we are, how fragile we are
