I am fascinated with magnolias. Their smell is almost intoxicating. Just one in the room. They change quite fast from snow white to a lovely brown and everything in between, the range of colors is amazing. Its a full live cycle in a day or so, flowering-dying.

The one above was the first stage of the flower, still pristine white and crisp, with all the potential colors inside and already showing through a little. Next stage...
