Burned Angel
This is one of the paintings that basically just appeared in front of my eyes as I kept painting. I love those moments. They make me feel as if something from way deep down is emerging that could have never emerged if I had an idea already in my head. They are much more interesting to me as I am oftentimes learning something new about myself. With this one, I think the message is a universal one about life. Good and bad forces dance with us while we struggle with what we have, broken wings, burned, and all.
A mysterious dance between a (peace) dove and an angel (with burned wings). While a darker figure below is reaching out to the angel who has one of his feathers detached from it. Or is that the feather from the dove?
There is a real feather embedded in the painting but it’s not the white feather. Can you see it?
There is lightness and movement in the painting, like a dance of good and bad. The angel seems held back and pulled down by the figure below. A giant feather is floating off detached from him as if it didn’t belong. He looks like he got burned on the edges as if he got too close to the fire.
Claudia, that’s really a such harmonic painting artwork. Amazing.
