Fire > consuming > fertilizing < 12 Kalis
Looking at some pictures of the recent, horrific forest fires in California, and also some photos of previous wild fires I noticed how nature bounces back, even in some cases thrives, after a forest fire and how some trees can’t propagate and grow seeds without being exposed to the fire and extreme heat.
In some way, this found its way into a recent painting, that I was working on for the new series of twelve Kalis. And I quite like the connection either way, as Kali is also about the energy of destruction.
Listening to Kaypacha, as he is talking about the fires also reminded me of something else. He related the outside fire to our internal fire that consumes and digests. The constant need to transform and bring something new out into the world.
Its all about balance. The sun is destructive but it is also giving: solar power, warmth, heat, evaporates water to form clouds, photosynthesis creates growth in plants.
He encourages us to connect to the sun within ourselves – our own inner powerhouse, to transforms our lives, relationships etc. . . . and give back.
Burning fuel like a locomotive,
And consuming more everyday,
I take it all in and create something new,
That I can give back again.
