Cycle of Life and Death
This four part series of flower paintings came to life through my fascination with magnolias. Their smell is almost intoxicating. Just one in the room. They change quite fast from snow white to a lovely brown and everything in between, the range of colors is amazing. Its a full Live Cycle in a day or so, flowering-dying. And so they had me contemplate about Life and Death and the seasons of our life too.
(Acrylic on canvas-board, 20 x 24 inch (51 x 61 cm))
- Cycle of Life and Death first stage
- After white came the clear colors and though I may have exaggerated a bit, they are just so full of it.
- Sort of like autumn they mellowed down and at the same time became the most intense color play, so full of color.
- The last stage of the flower, dissolving itself into it’s surrounding and yet beautifully vibrant still. I was playing with the color wheel and might have exaggerated a bit but really they are just so full of color.
