“I see something that’s not literally there”
I went to the Anselm Adams exhibit in San Francisco with my dear friend Linda. I was curious to see very old photos of the Bay Area and see what it looked like in those days and how much it has changed. I was curious how Anselm would portray the landscape that had been my home for many years now. I also learned a lot about his way of making a living with his photos and scaling up to large prints when no one else was doing it at the time. And when he describes nature as an experience of God I was hocked.

Which is pretty much the way I paint, “something that is not there”.
And last but not least he fought together with the Sierra Club to preserve the environment and the landscape, which is also my passion. Unfortunately, I could see even in his times the land had already been widely logged.
