This four-part series of flower paintings came to life through my fascination with magnolias. Their smell is almost intoxicating. Just one in the room. They change quite fast from snow white to a lovely brown and everything in between; the range of colors is amazing. It’s a full life cycle in a day or so, flowering-dying. And so they had me contemplate Life and Death and the seasons of our life, too.
